A hotel near Bercy

A weekend in Paris at the heart of the action!

In Paris’ 12th arrondissement, you’ll find hundreds of things to do, with a range of performance venues, parks and villages. Spend a weekend here and you won’t be bored! In Bercy, the Bastille district and the Marais, there’s always something going on, even on Sundays. Cultural centres abound with the Opéra Bastille, the Accor Arena and the Cinémathèque.

Nearby the hotel, Bercy has a number of sides to it. There is, of course, the Accor Arena which plays hosts to sporting events, large concerts and circus shows, as well as the Cinémathèque Française with its retrospectives. Also visit Bercy Park, made of three parts occupying the former wine depots which were the largest trading hub in the world for wines and spirits during the 19th century. Plus don’t miss Bercy Village (Cour Saint Emilion), a real village in Paris, with brand shops, a great atmosphere, special events and a special history that make this a truly unique place in Paris.

In the Bastille area, the Opéra Bastille hosts special tours, including on Saturdays, which will take you around the opera house’s main public areas and then backstage. The backstage tour at the Opéra Bastille lasts 90 minutes.

If you’d rather see things along the waterways, why not take a short cruise from the Paris-Arsenal pleasure port (7 minutes from the hotel) to the Parc de la Vilette? The cruise around Old Paris on the Canal Saint-Martin is a quaint and romantic journey lasting around two and a half hours, with the history of the people’s neighbourhoods of Paris recounted as you sail along the water. You’ll pass such things as four double canal locks and two rotating bridges, and relive the atmosphere of Marcel Carné’s film classic “Hôtel du Nord” with Arletty and Louis Jouvet. Experience the joy of walking along the lively waterfronts with their lovely boutiques and retro bistros.
